Being awakened is not something you need to achieve, but something that is already present, hidden behind illusions and concepts we have accepted as true.

1. The Goal of Spiritual Practice is Awakening.

Myth: Awakening is a goal that can be achieved through spiritual practices and techniques.

Reality: Awakening is not an endpoint but a recognition of your true nature in the present moment.

2. You Must Do Something Special to Achieve the State of Awakening

Myth: There are specific steps, methods, or techniques you must follow to achieve the state of awakening.

Reality: Being awakened is your natural state and does not require specific actions; it is more about letting go of the illusion of who you think you are, allowing you to remember who and what you truly are.

3. (Spiritual) Awakening is About Becoming Better.

Myth: Spiritual awakening is a process of personal improvement and perfection.

Reality: It is not about becoming better but about remembering what you already are and have always been. You have simply "forgotten."

4. If You Are Awakened, You Always Feel Good

Myth: Being awakened means a constant feeling of bliss and peace.

Reality: Being awakened means being fully present with whatever arises, including discomfort and pain.

5. There is a Path You Must Follow

Myth: Awakening lies at the end of a specific spiritual path.

Reality: There is no fixed path. The path is unique to each individual and unfolds spontaneously.

6. Your Ego Must Completely Disappear

Myth: Awakening means the complete disappearance of the ego.

Reality: The ego is a functional aspect of the human experience; awakening is about seeing through the identification with it.

7. You Must Stop Thinking

Myth: Thoughts must completely disappear to achieve the state of awakening.

Reality: Thoughts will continue to come and go; they are an essential part of being human. If you stop thinking completely, you’re dead. It’s about recognizing that you are not your thoughts.

8. Awakening Means Reaching a Higher State of Consciousness

Myth: There are higher states of consciousness you must reach to achieve the state of awakening.

Reality: Awakening is not a higher state of being; it is simply recognizing the timeless and boundless presence that you already are.

9. Being Awakened Means You No Longer Have Desires

Myth: Desires are an obstacle and must completely disappear to awaken.

Reality: Desire is a natural human experience. Being awakened does not mean the absence of desires but being free from attachment to them.

10. Being Awakened Completely Transforms Your Life

Myth: After awakening, your life will be radically different.

Reality: Your external circumstances do not necessarily need to change. What changes is your perspective and your relationship with the world.
